Meet Christine Adelwohrer
Christine Adelwohrer
Lead Counsellor
Christine brings a rich and diverse background in education and counselling. After 15 years as a Senior Secondary Teacher in Australia, and numerous years overseas in China & Hong Kong she served as Student Welfare Coordinator and Head of Student Services and School Counsellor.
Christine is deeply committed to the vision of Lifeline Australia, but it’s her daily connection with the Loddon Mallee office and team that brings her the greatest professional fulfillment. She thrives in a collaborative, creative environment where evidence-based programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of the community.
Her counselling approach is grounded in helping clients navigate grief and loss in a constructive and empowering way. She aims to build a dynamic, high-quality service that evolves to meet the needs of rural and regional clients.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma of Education, and a Master in Counselling. With over 12 years of counselling experience, she primarily works with adults, with a special focus on older clients. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to provide compassionate, practical support.
Her professional interests lie in the intersection of grief, loss, and mental health—helping individuals process complex emotions and rediscover meaning in their lives. As the Lead Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counsellor for several Bendigo-based organisations, Christine is also dedicated to fostering workplace wellbeing, resilience, and sustainable mental health practices across the community.
